Certified Localisation Professional (CLP)

The Certified Localisation Professional (CLP) project was originally funded by the European Union under its ADAPT initiative (1998-2000) and developed a framework for the certification of localisation professionals under the leadership of the Localisation Research Centre (LRC). Between 2006 and 2008 it has been supported by the European Union TechLink Project under the Europe Asia IT&C Programme.

Following an in-depth consultation process with all parties and stakeholders involved, it was decided that the results of CLP project should be transfered to the ownership of The Institute of Localisation Professionals (TILP).

TILP has now developed CLP into a professional certification system, launched at the LRC 2004 conference.

For an overview of the CLP programme take a look at this presentation and article which were presented at ASLIB - Translating and the Computer 26 - 18-19 November 2004. More information is also available on the TechLink project site and on Wikipedia.
