Educational
Background
I graduated from the
Ionian University in Greece in 2000 with a Bachelor in
Translation with Greek, English and German and a
specialisation in technical and financial texts. In 2004, a
need for further development brought me to the University of
Edinburgh in Scotland, from which I graduated two years
later with a Masters in Chinese Studies.
Professional
Experience
Upon my graduation
from the Ionian University, I started working in the
translation department of ATTIKO METRO in Greece, the
company that designs and constructs the underground railway
systems in Athens and Thessaloniki. Parallel to that, I also
worked as a freelance professional on various fields of
technical translation. In 2006, I moved to China and became
the head of the English translation department of Beijing
Xinhua InfoLink, a private media company that provides
real-time news feeds on China's main industrial and economic
sectors. My duties include reviewing, editing and
translating as well as providing translator training. In
addition, I work as a Greek language reviewer for software
localization providers in Beijing and keep an open
cooperation with the Beijing Foreign Studies University for
delivering translation seminars to the students of the Greek
Language Department
