Educational Background

My name is Izaskun García-Ugarte. At the age of 23 I have a degree on Translation and Interpreting (English and German into Spanish) and the European Masters in Conference Interpreting (with the same combination). During my studies I have come to love the career ahead of me as a cultural bridge-builder, wishing to find my place in the world of translation and localisation as well interpreting.

Professional Experience

In the field of interpreting, I worked as a liaison interpreter during the 37th Choir Contest of Tolosa in 2005. I have also enjoyed a 5-day work experience in the European Parliament and Commission in Brussels (2008). As far as translation and localisation are concerned, I have worked for Alianzo Networks (2005-2006), the first company devoted to social networks in Spain, for which I translated blogs and software. Furthermore, I have also worked for Deutsche Welle, the German BBC. I translated articles as well as the dialog boxes of the online language course the offer.
